Eng. Mustafa Qasim al-Mousawi, the project manager from the Engineering Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, announced that the project’s completion rate has exceeded 94%. He emphasized that the opening is scheduled to coincide with the start of the upcoming academic year, as work accelerates to finalize the concluding stages.
Integrated Design
Al-Mousawi explained that the project comprises two secondary schools—one for girls and one for boys—covering grades 7 through 12. He added that the complex serves as a model for advanced education, designed and executed according to the highest modern engineering and pedagogical standards.
Expansive Facilities
The total site area spans 9,800 square meters, with a built-up area of 7,800 square meters. Each school features 30 classrooms, as well as assembly halls and specialized laboratories for chemistry, physics, biology, and computer science. These facilities are designed to foster an educational environment that meets contemporary global standards.
State-of-the-Art Amenities
The project includes a comprehensive student club, featuring sports and recreation halls for various activities. Furthermore, it boasts a multipurpose five-a-side sports pitch and a modern scientific library—features that distinguish this complex from other schools in Iraq.
Modern Systems
Al-Mousawi stressed that both schools are equipped with integrated firefighting and early-warning systems, along with an advanced audio system. All essential services required by students have been provided to ensure a safe and technologically advanced learning environment.
Architectural Aesthetics
The project is characterized by modern architectural designs executed by the Holy Alawi Shrine’s design unit. The complex incorporates open spaces, unique landscapes, and contemporary recreational facilities. Al-Mousawi noted that the schools will be furnished with the latest educational equipment and furniture, adhering to the highest specifications.
This project stands as one of the most prominent educational initiatives overseen and implemented by the Holy Alawi Shrine. It aims to support students in the northern districts of Najaf al-Ashraf, contributing to the enhancement of the educational landscape and the elevation of the region’s infrastructure.
