Rare Manuscripts from the Early Centuries of Islam

Ammar Mashaallah, head of the Treasury and Museum, explained:

“Our contribution to the Shrine’s pavilion featured new and distinctive activities. Among them was the display of images of rare manuscripts preserved in the treasury, some dating back to the 1st, 3rd, and 6th centuries AH. We also showcased unique artifacts from the 10th, 11th, and 12th centuries, presented for the first time in a refined artistic format.”

Innovative Presentation Through Modern Technology

He continued:

“The most precious gifts and rare holdings of the treasury—including relics of the martyrs of the Sacred Defense fatwa from the seminary—were displayed using advanced hologram technology.”

Specialized Sessions and Workshops

Mashaallah added:

“Alongside these exhibits, we organized a scholarly session within the fair’s cultural program, titled The Traditions of Quranic Calligraphy in Baghdad – The Yaqut Quran. Daily workshops on traditional papermaking also drew remarkable interest from visitors.”
