The Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine organized the flag-hoisting ceremony of mourning and grief to mark the beginning of the commemorative ceremonies for the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Master of the Free, Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), his family, and his loyal companions.
This ceremony was held in a special format at the Holy Alawi Shrine and coincided with the flag-hoisting mourning ceremony at the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) in holy Karbala.
The event was attended by the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, Sayed Isa al-Khirsan, his deputy, members of the Board of Directors, servants of the shrine from department heads and staff, as well as a group of professors and seminary students, official figures, officials and representatives of Hussaini mourning processions and Mawakib, academic, social and tribal elites, along with the wide participation of dear pilgrims.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by reciter Amir Kassar. This was followed by a Hussaini mourning assembly and the recitation of the Ziyarat “Ameenullah” by the preacher and servant of the shrine, Shubr Ma’leh.
Afterward, the message of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine was read by Hayder Muhammad Jasim.
In his speech, on behalf of the Custodianship of the Holy Alawi Shrine and all the servants of the sacred Alawi Threshold, he expressed loyalty, condolences, and sorrow on the occasion of the beginning of the Husaini mourning season in the month of Muharram al-Haram — the month of calamity and mourning — and honored the start of these days of grief and sorrow.
