Hussaini Mourning Gathering for Female Pilgrims at the Holy Alawi Shrine

A special mourning gathering was held for female pilgrims of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him).

The Family Counseling Center of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Holy Alawi Shrine organized a large mourning assembly for female pilgrims as part of its cultural and educational programs during the days of Ashura.

Sundus Rida, Head of the Women’s Counseling Center, told the Shrine’s News Center:

“Keeping the Hussaini rituals alive is an important opportunity to deepen faith and religious education. It also plays a vital role in strengthening religious awareness and instilling the values and principles for which Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) sacrificed his life.”

She added:

“The program began with a religious lecture highlighting the doctrinal and educational dimensions of Imam al-Hussain’s uprising and its enduring role in promoting the values of faith, patience, and social reform.

This was followed by the recitation of the Maqtal and the remembrance of the tragedies of Ashura, before the mourning ceremony concluded with participants renewing their loyalty and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).”

The gathering was warmly received by female pilgrims, who commemorated the sacrifices of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) and his companions in an atmosphere filled with grief, reverence, and spirituality.
