With the arrival of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Zain al-Abidin, Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him), the flag of mourning was raised atop the Najaf Iwan, and the atmosphere of the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) was enveloped in an air of grief and mourning.
