Holy Alawi Shrine Hosts Mourners Attending the Funeral Procession of Iran’s Martyred Leader

The Holy Alawi Shrine is serving more than 250,000 blessed meals to mourners attending the funeral procession of Iran's martyred leader.

The Guest Services Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine began its work as pilgrims and mourners arrived in Najaf al-Ashraf to welcome and take part in the funeral rites for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Grand Ayatollah, the martyred Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may his soul be sanctified).

More than 250,000 full meals and snacks are being prepared and distributed at three reception sites near the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) and at the entrance to the historic quarter of Najaf al-Ashraf.

Athir al-Tamimi, head of this department, told the Shrine’s News Center that by order of the shrine’s Deputy Custodian, three sites have been equipped to serve mourners and pilgrims. He explained that one of these centers is the shrine’s main guesthouse, which handles the distribution of the blessed meals, while two additional centers have also been set up – one facing the courtyard of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), and the other at the entrance to Najaf al-Ashraf’s historic quarter, where snacks and reception packages are distributed to pilgrims and mourners.
