Under the supervision of its Religious Affairs Department, the Holy Alawi Shrine announced the implementation of its annual summer course program for the years 1447 and 1448 AH, with the participation of three thousand students from various provinces across Iraq, aimed at deepening students’ religious and cultural awareness during the summer break.
Karrar al-Khafaji, head of the Religious Affairs Department, stated:
“The courses began on Friday, June 19, of this year, with students attending from every province in Iraq, from the north to the south of the country. He explained that the program falls within the framework of the annual initiative the Holy Alawi Shrine carries out in service of its students.”
He added:
“These courses are held out of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s ongoing commitment to and support for students, and to make good use of the summer break—coinciding with the months of Muharram al-Haram and Safar al-Khayr—in order to spread religious and intellectual awareness and instill authentic Islamic values.”
He further noted:
“The educational program of these courses includes classes and sessions on jurisprudence, doctrine, ethics, and the biography of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), which will help strengthen students’ religious and intellectual awareness and prepare them to become effective contributors to society.”
This initiative is among the Holy Alawi Shrine’s most prominent annual programs, now in its second decade of implementation. The courses are designed for students at the primary, intermediate, and secondary levels, aged 11 to 17, and are carried out in coordination with representatives of the supreme religious authority across Iraq’s provinces, under the collective supervision of scholars and seminary students, as part of the broader effort to strengthen the religious and cultural awareness of the rising generation.
