The Committee for Supporting Hussaini Mawkibs has launched the distribution of essential items to the service Mawkibs taking part in the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Under the initiative, food parcels and bottled water are being handed out to Mawkibs stationed in Najaf’s old city and the areas surrounding the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) to shore up the services provided to millions of Arbaeen pilgrims in the city.
Ahmad Najm al-Rikabi, head of the Committee for Supporting Hussaini Mawkibs, said:
“The committee has started executing the distribution plan among over 1,500 Hussaini Mawkibs. These processions are set up along the routes leading to the old city and around the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin.”
He added:
“The quota allocated to each Mawkib includes rice, cooking oil, tomato paste, and other staples. We’re also supplying drinking water for them to boost their capacity to deliver top-notch services to pilgrims during this million-strong visitation.”
Following a field-based schedule, the committee is carrying out the distribution so that all eligible Mawkibs receive support. It’s a step aimed at strengthening volunteer and service efforts and helping make this year’s Arbaeen observances even more magnificent.
