Holding of the Annual Women Preachers' Conference at the Holy Alawi Shrine

The fifteenth annual conference of the Islamic Seminary School was held at the Holy Alawi Shrine on the eve of Arbaeen, with the participation of 1,200 women preachers.

With the support of the Holy Alawi Shrine, around 1,500 women preachers took part in the fifteenth annual conference of preachers organized by the Hawzah as part of the special promotional plan for Arbaeen, under the slogan “Those with listening ears will grasp it, and sincere hearts will pass it on to others.” The conference was held as part of the preparations for the promotional program specifically designed for the Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain.

The Importance of the Preaching Mission During Arbaeen

At the conference, Shaykh Tariq al-Baghdadi, a professor at the Hawzah, gave a speech highlighting the importance of religious outreach during Arbaeen as one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. He stressed the need to make the most of this million-strong presence to spread religious awareness and embed Islamic values through informed discourse and effective methods tailored to pilgrims’ needs.

Readiness to Serve

Karrar al-Khafaji, head of the Religious Affairs Department at the Holy Alawi Shrine, told the Shrine’s News Center:

“The massive turnout at this conference shows just how important promotional activities are during the Arbaeen season. We’re continuing to run training and orientation programs to enhance the preachers’ academic and practical skills so they can fulfill their guiding and cultural role in the best possible way, in line with the unique character of this great religious occasion.”

Increasing Readiness

Fatimah al-Shammari, the program organizer, also explained:

“This conference is part of a series of training and capacity-building programs aimed at boosting the preachers’ academic and operational readiness before they head out into the field. During this program, we outlined the mechanisms for promotional and service activities during Arbaeen, and we also distributed special ID cards to the preachers so they can be stationed at promotional points and answer religious inquiries.”

The conference was held as part of the joint efforts between the Holy Alawi Shrine and the Hawzah to ensure maximum readiness on the eve of Arbaeen. Its aim is to strengthen on-the-ground promotional work, provide specialist staff to offer religious guidance, answer Shari’a questions, and serve women pilgrims at various points along the Arbaeen walking route.
