The Holy Alawi Shrine, represented by the Services Affairs Department, has prepared to receive pilgrims arriving at the shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). This preparation has taken the form of a comprehensive service plan encompassing the preparation of outdoor areas around the Haydariyah Courtyard and the Fatimah al-Zahra Courtyard (peace be upon her), spanning more than 35,000 square meters; the equipping of accommodation sites, deposit services, and other support services; as well as the readying of vehicles, equipment, and personnel required to facilitate pilgrim movement.
Mahdi Saleh Mahdi, Deputy Head of the Services Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, stated to the Shrine’s News Center:
“As part of these preparations, approximately 35,000 square meters of outdoor space and the Fatimah al-Zahra Courtyard (peace be upon her) have been covered with carpets and rugs, and air-cooling units, hospitality supplies, and other support services have been made ready.”
He added:
“In terms of providing cool drinking water, this plan included the supply of 25 million cups of water, 50,000 blocks of ice, and 300,000 packs of bottled water (Cheshmeh-ye Astan brand), which are considered the first phase and initial support. Several stations have also been established for the distribution of drinking water around the shrine and its service areas.”
He continued:
“These preparations also extend to the Imam al-Rida Town, where several cool water distribution stations have been set up. Pilgrim transportation, points for addressing religious inquiries, and guidance for lost pilgrims have also been arranged, and 75 honorary servants will be stationed there to provide services. In addition, emergency relief, rest areas, and water supply have been arranged.”
In terms of pilgrim services and accommodation, the service plan includes the establishment and preparation of pilgrim accommodation sites and the setup of deposit and shoe-storage services with a capacity of approximately 14,000 items. Shoe-storage facilities with a combined simultaneous capacity of 3,500 pilgrims have also been established.
He added:
“In the area of health services, 19 fixed sanitary facilities and 12 mobile sanitary units have been arranged. Mobile restroom units have also been prepared, with repair, cleaning, and disinfection operations carried out, and the necessary sanitation and disinfection equipment and supplies provided for them.”
These measures are being carried out through ongoing coordination and oversight between the Services Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine and other affiliated departments and support institutions, to ensure that services to the pilgrims of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) continue without interruption throughout this occasion.
