The Holy Alawi Shrine Hosts Approximately Five Million Pilgrims on the Martyrdom of the Seal of the Prophets

The Holy Alawi Shrine announced that the number of pilgrims participating in the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Seal of the Prophets was close to five million.

The Holy Alawi Shrine, in coordination with the local administration and the security and service agencies of Najaf al-Ashraf Province, concluded its special plan for commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), and announced that according to the electronic counting system, nearly five million pilgrims and mourners participated in these ceremonies.

Haidar al-Eisawi, a member of the Management Office supervising million-pilgrim visits, said:

“More than 300 mourning processions were present around the Holy Alawi Shrine to offer condolences to Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). Additionally, 500 service processions in the city of Najaf al-Ashraf, particularly in the old quarter of Najaf, participated in providing services to the pilgrims, and approximately 2,500 servants were involved in these services.”

He added:

“The Guesthouse of the Holy Alawi Shrine, on the night and day of the martyrdom, distributed over 250,000 blessed meals among the pilgrims. Furthermore, 100 vehicles participated in the plan for the return and reverse transfer of pilgrims. In addition, more than 15 stations for answering religious questions were established, 16,000 blocks of ice and 9 million liters of water were provided to the pilgrims, and five medical centers were opened in coordination with the provincial health departments to serve the pilgrims.”

The Holy Alawi Shrine emphasized that these measures were carried out in coordination with the security and service institutions and the local administration to facilitate the pilgrimage process and provide the best services to the pilgrims and mourners.
