The Security Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine held a ceremony to honor the students of the Second Police College of Iraq. This ceremony was held in appreciation of their role in providing security for the pilgrims of the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) during the days of Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) and the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Noble Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his family).
The ceremony was held in the presence of Sayyid Eisa al-Khirsan, Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, and the heads of the Security, Public Relations, and Media Departments, in the “Lady Aminah (peace be upon her)” Hall in the courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her).
The Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, in his address, welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to the courageous students who participated in securing the ceremonies of these two occasions. He said: “What has been mentioned in the noble verses and honorable traditions regarding the questioning of man on the Day of Resurrection about his life and how he spent it, indicates the great value of time and the importance of the services that a person provides for the sake of God and in service to others.”
He emphasized that this valuable opportunity placed at their disposal will bring good fruits for them in this world and the Hereafter. Furthermore, serving the pilgrims and mourners at the holy shrines holds a lofty station near God Almighty, and in addition to that, it brings with it the sincere prayers of the believers and pilgrims.
The Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, at the conclusion of his remarks, expressed gratitude for the efforts of the officers, forces, and students, and their success in serving the pilgrims during these two great occasions, praising their sincere efforts in carrying out the assigned duties.
Brigadier General Staff Salah Salman al-Shammari, Dean of the Second Police College, expressed appreciation for this initiative and said:
“The Holy Alawi Shrine has always supported the security agencies and has stood alongside them through continuous presence, moral support, and extensive coordination.”
He added:
“The security forces are deserving of such recognition; for they make tremendous efforts in serving the pilgrims and ensuring the security of the pilgrimages.”
He also added:
“All the staff of the Holy Alawi Shrine were present throughout these ceremonies and cooperated with the servants of the Security Department, which contributed significantly to achieving optimal coordination and streamlining the execution of duties this year.”
This honor ceremony is held for the second consecutive year, in recognition of the efforts of the students of the Second Police College in Basra Province in carrying out their assigned duties and supporting the servants of the Security Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine during the Arbaeen ceremonies of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) and the commemoration of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his family)—efforts that have played a significant role in facilitating the movement of pilgrims and providing a safe environment for them.
