The Pilgrim Guesthouse Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, through the Shrine’s Mawkib, has begun offering hospitality to pilgrims who have come to the city of Samarra to take part in the mourning ceremonies marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him).
Athir al-Tamimi, head of the Guesthouse Department, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“Immediately upon arriving in the city of Samarra, in cooperation and coordination with our brothers at the guesthouse of the Holy Askari Shrine, we began preparing various meals to serve pilgrims.”
He added:
“The program to serve pilgrims in Samarra will continue until the end of the pilgrimage ceremonies and includes main meals and snacks across three sittings — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — totaling 15,000 meals per day.”
It is worth noting that the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine has ordered the formation of a committee to organize and dispatch a service Mawkib to the city of Samarra. This Mawkib, with the participation of various departments of the Holy Alawi Shrine, provides a range of services to pilgrims.
