On the sidelines of the events held for the Fifth International Arabic Poetry Festival “Rasul al-A’zam,” the participating Arab poets toured the arcades of the sacred Alawi shrine and viewed some of the most notable historical works and structures found at the Holy Alawi Shrine. They also visited the Haydariyah Sanctuary Library and the Islamic Arts Exhibition.
Expressing their amazement and admiration for the scholarly, historical, and literary treasures held in the Haydariyah Sanctuary Library, the poets described the collection as an important and invaluable heritage in the realm of knowledge and culture, praising the works and sources preserved there for the role they play in safeguarding Islamic and human heritage.
The participants also visited the Islamic Arts Exhibition, where they viewed up close a collection of valuable paintings and artworks — works that display the aesthetic dimensions and authenticity of Islamic art.
They further toured a number of notable historical and architectural structures that give the grounds of the Holy Alawi Shrine their distinctive character.
These events were held as part of the diverse program of the Fifth International “Two Sadiqs Week” — a week that brings together a range of Quranic, cultural, scholarly, dialogue-based, and literary-poetic activities, alongside social events and tributes to notable figures. These programs are held in the vicinity of the sacred Alawi shrine and at various locations throughout the holy city of Najaf, and extend to other regions both within and outside Iraq.
