The sacred banner of the Alawi shrine, accompanied by a delegation from the Holy Alawi Shrine, arrived in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. This step was carried out as part of the necessary preparations for commemorating the anniversary of the birth of the Great Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), within the framework of the “International Two Sadiqs Week” programs held outside Iraq.
Karrar al-Khafaji, head of the delegation, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“We brought with us the banner of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), that this city may be honored by its blessing, that the banner may fly in its skies, and that we may stand alongside believers and Muslims in commemorating this blessed occasion. This step was also carried out to strengthen bonds of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence among the followers of different faiths and denominations, and to convey the message of pure Islam and the principles and foundations of the pure Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).”
Shaikh Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar, head of the al-Minhaj al-Hussaini Institute, said:
“We are pleased and honored by the presence of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s delegation in Pakistan, and we commend the initiative of holding this ceremony and raising the blessed banner to mark this blessed birth in the city of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. Lahore is a city known for its religious, historical, educational, and academic character, and these programs stand as an expression of devotion and loyalty to the Great Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and his pure and sacred Ahl al-Bayt.”
