The Holy Alawi Shrine’s delegation in the city of Lahore, Pakistan, began distributing official invitations to guests of the festival. This festival will be held to mark the anniversary of the birth of the Great Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and his esteemed grandson, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), as part of the programs of the “International Two Sadiqs Week.”
Muhannad al-Jamali, representative of the Shrine’s Public Relations Department, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“By order of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, special invitations to the ‘Gathering of the Two Pure Lights’ were delivered to the representative of the supreme religious authority, directors of religious, social, and academic schools and institutions and their representatives, as well as a number of religious figures. This was carried out in cooperation and coordination with the al-Minhaj al-Husseini Institute in the city of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province.”
Al-Jamali added:
“The program to celebrate and commemorate this blessed occasion includes a range of varied events, among them the raising of the sacred banner in the city and a conference on the theme of peaceful coexistence and countering extremism, to be held with the participation of representatives from various faiths and communities across Pakistan. A special festival for believing women has also been arranged, along with a further range of diverse cultural and ceremonial programs and content.”
These programs are held with the aim of strengthening religious and social ties, reinforcing the values of unity, coexistence, and peace, and commemorating the occasions related to the birth of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon him).
