A delegation dispatched by the Holy Alawi Shrine in Pakistan visited the historic Badshahi Mosque in the city of Lahore.

The Holy Alawi Shrine delegation continues its meetings with religious, social, and academic institutions in a number of Pakistani cities, as part of preparations for holding the Fifth International Two Sadiqs Week and commemorating the presence of the servants of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) on this occasion.

The Holy Alawi Shrine delegation, headed by Karrar al-Khafaji, Head of the Religious Affairs Division, and accompanied by Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Hussain Akbar of the Minhaj al-Hussain Management Institute, visited the historic Badshahi Mosque in Lahore and met and held talks with the mosque’s officials. During the visit, the mosque’s officials were invited to take part in the “International Two Sadiqs Week” programs.

Al-Khafaji said:

“This visit took place as part of the delegation’s program of establishing contact with various institutions. During the visit, alongside introducing the Holy Alawi Shrine’s plans and activities and its efforts in serving pilgrims, the officials were also invited to participate in the special ceremonies of the ‘Two Sadiqs Week.'”

The Badshahi Mosque, also known as the “Imperial Mosque” or “Royal Mosque,” is considered one of the most prominent Islamic and historic buildings in the city of Lahore. The mosque was built in 1674 CE by order of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, and is distinguished by notable architectural features, including historic Islamic architecture and the use of red brick and marble throughout its various sections.
