Alawi Holy Shrine Runs Educational Program for Pilgrims to the House of God

The Alawi Holy Shrine is running educational and guidance-focused programs for pilgrims heading to the House of God (Mecca).

Through its Religious Affairs Department’s media unit, the shrine is continuing its annual “Virtual Hajj” program by holding sessions and advisory lectures specifically about Hajj rituals for pilgrims to the House of God.

This is part of the shrine’s ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims and prepare them to perform the rituals correctly.

The head of the Religious Media Unit, Shaikh Hani al-Kinani, told the shrine’s news center:

“This program focuses on several core areas, the most important being explaining the true dimensions of the Hajj duty and getting pilgrims ready to perform the rituals with insight and a solid understanding of religious rulings.”

He added that these sessions aren’t limited to just the judicial aspects—they also cover spiritual and emotional dimensions.

He continued:

“The Alawi Holy Shrine has taken on the printing of over 5,000 special booklets on Hajj and Umrah, and has distributed them among pilgrims. Also, 750 educational and directional banners about the holy sites—for performing Hajj rituals, the Prophet’s Mosque (peace be upon him and his family), and the rituals of Umrah Mufradah—have been prepared and installed.”

Al-Kinani noted:

“The training starts with theoretical explanations of the Hajj rituals and their rulings, then continues with hands-on practice using educational models set up in the Mohsen Hall at the Sahn of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her). This method helps solidify pilgrims’ practical understanding.”

He added that around 2,000 pilgrims from various Iraqi caravans have benefited from these courses, and that the program has seen significant turnout and engagement.

It’s worth noting that the Alawi Holy Shrine has been running these courses for nearly ten years as an annual program aimed at serving pilgrims to the House of God.
