The Deputy Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), Sayed Eisa Al-Khirsan, announced that the shrine has taken responsibility for the reconstruction and gilding of the holy tomb of Sayed Mohammad ibn Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him), located in the city of Dezful, Khuzestan Province, Iran. This action comes after the damage caused by fire and destruction resulting from recent incidents that targeted this noble shrine.
This was announced during an official ceremony held at the holy shrine, attended by its officials and a group of religious and social figures. The ceremony took place as part of a visit by a delegation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to several cities in Iran. The delegation was headed by the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and accompanied by a number of servants of the holy shrine.
In his speech, the Custodian of the Alawi Shrine thanked the attendees for their warm welcome and sincere hospitality. He emphasized that this blessed shrine, God willing, will once again become a place of comfort for hearts and a beneficiary of the blessings of the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). He also wished the people of this city success, honor, and victory.
Haidar Rahim, member of the committee and head of the media department of the Alawi Holy Shrine (peace be upon him), stated:
“The measures taken by the Custodianship include undertaking the reconstruction and gilding of the lattice grill (shrine) of this noble tomb. This structure will be transferred to the specialized gilding workshop affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to carry out the design and reconstruction phases. This workshop previously has in its portfolio the execution of the largest artistic and specialized works of the Alawi Shrine, including the large golden porch (Iwan) and the crown of the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).”
He added:
“According to the directives of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the possibility of participating in the development project of the noble shrine and its service sections is also under consideration. This action will be carried out by specialized technical and engineering teams, in coordination with official institutions and relevant authorities, and will be followed up through joint visits and meetings to review the project’s plans and needs.”
The visit also included a field tour by the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) inside the noble shrine, observing the effects of destruction and damage to the shrine and the porticos of the holy shrine. In the end, the servants active in this noble shrine were honored.
