The “Mohsen” Children’s Cultural Center, affiliated with the Alawi Educational Board of the Holy Alawi Shrine, held a series of cultural and educational programs for pilgrims during the days of Arbaeen, including the “Mohsen Platform” and “Mohsen Camp.”
These programs were designed and carried out with the aim of drawing on the spiritual atmosphere of the Arbaeen period to promote Islamic teachings and instill the values of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) among the younger generation.
A Comprehensive Program for Raising Children
Ali Haidar of the Mohsen Center told the Holy Alawi Shrine News Center: “Alongside the ceremonies for the days of Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), a series of diverse programs dedicated to children has been carried out.”
He added:
“The ‘Mohsen Camp’ program, through educational, cultural, and formative activities, strives to instill Islamic values and the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the minds and hearts of children, and to raise their awareness in confronting the intellectual and cultural challenges that target this age group.”
Widespread Enthusiasm from Families
Ali Haidar, pointing to the remarkable enthusiasm for these programs, said:
“The center’s activities have drawn the enthusiastic participation of children and their families, and the educational and cultural programs, offered through modern methods combining entertainment and learning, have been met with wide participation. This approach, while reinforcing positive formative concepts, further familiarizes children with the luminous conduct of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their lofty human values.”
It is worth noting that these programs are carried out in line with the cultural approach of the Holy Alawi Shrine to expand cultural activities during the millions-strong pilgrimage season — an approach that regards the child as the central focus in shaping the future of society, and that seeks to cultivate a generation with deep religious and cultural insight; a generation that draws its lessons of faith, awareness, and moral reform from the school of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him).
