Imam Ali Holy Shrine Hosts the Central Women’s Ceremony and Launches the “Women Pilgrims Guidance” Initiative

During the Week of Modesty, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine hosted the Central Women’s Ceremony and announced the launch of the “Women Pilgrims Guidance” initiative.

Within the framework of the Week of Modesty programs, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine organized the Central Women’s Ceremony with the participation of women from various segments of society. The event aimed to promote elevated moral values inspired by the luminous conduct of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), to strengthen vitality and hope among women, and to support and enhance their presence in diverse cultural and social fields.

 

The Mission-Oriented Role of Women

The Head of the Women’s Affairs Department, Ms. Ramla Al-Khuzaei, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“This ceremony is held as part of a comprehensive set of programs prepared by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine to emphasize the mission-oriented role of women and to revive ethical and human values derived from the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).”

 

Women Pilgrims Guidance Initiative

She added:

“Coinciding with the Central Ceremony, the launch of the Women Pilgrims Guidance initiative was announced. This initiative is one of the programs designed to support women pilgrims and to promote a culture of conscious and informed visitation through guidance, the provision of advice, and follow-up on matters related to the etiquettes of pilgrimage in a manner befitting the sanctity of this noble shrine.”

 

Objectives of the Initiative

Referring to the objectives of the initiative, she explained:

“The initiative seeks to institutionalize concepts of respect for the sanctity of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine and to raise pilgrims’ awareness of the spiritual significance and esteemed status of this sacred place, while preserving an atmosphere of tranquility, dignity, and commitment that characterizes religious pilgrimage.”

 

Participants in the Initiative

Al-Khuzaei further clarified:

“The implementation of this initiative forms part of the development-oriented programs of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Imam Ali Holy Shrine. It is carried out by a group of volunteer female servants, including graduates of the Najaf seminary, alongside a number of academics, educators, and students of religious sciences with diverse scholarly specializations.”

 

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has consistently given special attention to the guidance-oriented and awareness-raising role of women in supporting respected pilgrims. Through the implementation of various initiatives, this approach continues within the programs of the Twelfth Week of Modesty.
