Holding of a centralized exam for female preachers at the Alawi Holy Shrine

The Alawi Holy Shrine hosted the centralized exam for female preachers designated for the Arbaeen pilgrimage period.

The Alawi Holy Shrine, representing the Department of Religious Affairs – Propagation Unit, hosted the centralized exam and qualification assessment for female preachers of the “Way of Hussain” plan designated for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

An exam that is held every year with the support of the supreme religious authority and under the supervision of the head of the publicity plan of the religious seminary.

Fatimah al-Shimmari, the coordination officer for this publicity plan, stated in an interview with the shrine’s News Center:

“The aim of holding this exam is to assess the scholarly and religious competencies of female preachers and to ensure the delivery of a solid religious discourse appropriate to the needs of female pilgrims. This exam is an important stage in the process of training and empowering preachers for participation in providing services to Arbaeen pilgrims, and participation in it is one of the main conditions for being present in field activities.”

She added:

“In this exam, 819 out of 845 applicants have participated, representing approximately 14 women’s seminaries, both in-person and virtual, in the city of Najaf Ashraf.”

She emphasized that conducting this scholarly evaluation plays an effective role in raising the level of religiius discourse performance and institutionalizing the scholarly approach in seminary activities.

It is worth noting that the Alawi Holy Shrine, every year with early planning and preparation, arranges various programs to provide services to both female and male pilgrims who come to visit the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) in Najaf Ashraf – pilgrims who, after that, head to holy Karbala to participate in the great ritual of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
