In line with its mission to support authentic literature centered on the love and authority of the Ahl al-Bayt, the Holy Shrine, represented by its Media Department, announced the commencement of the fourth edition of the “Hussaini Young Poets Forum.” The program features a distinguished group of Hussaini poets from various Iraqi provinces, aiming to strengthen the intellectual and creedal content of the Hussaini discourse.
Regarding the objectives and message of the program, Mr. Jafar al-Bderi, the program coordinator, stated to the shrine’s News Center:
“In this session, the forum is hosting 40 poets carefully selected from across the country—individuals who have demonstrated a significant role and impact on Hussaini pulpits in recent years. Furthermore, efforts have been made to introduce new faces in each edition to facilitate the exchange of literary expertise and knowledge, thereby expanding the scope of influence within the realm of Hussaini poetry.”
He added:
“The program includes a series of diverse and complementary activities encompassing spiritual and advisory dimensions. These include cultural sessions focused on institutionalizing the concept of the ‘Etiquette of Service’ and understanding the sanctity of these occasions. Additionally, specialized workshops emphasize the importance of selecting eloquent vocabulary befitting the grandeur of the Hussaini Movement.”
He further noted:
“These workshops also emphasize the avoidance of exaggeration and themes that may conflict with sound creedal foundations. Sharia and literary criteria for composing Hussaini poetry are provided to ensure that these works remain within the framework of religious values and the dignity of the Hussaini Pulpits.”
Regarding the fringe programs, he explained:
“The initiative also includes a field experience component, where poets immerse themselves in the atmosphere of pilgrimage and service at the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). This allows them to draw inspiration from living spiritual concepts and values, reflecting them in their literary works.”
This annual program is designed to nurture conscious and committed poets capable of effectively conveying the message of the Hussaini Movement through poetry that is robust in both structure and content.
