Sayed Isa al-Khirsan, Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, together with the members of the Board of Trustees, the President and staff of the Alawi Institute for Research and Studies, and servants from various departments, received the academic and cultural delegations participating in the second session of the Allamah Naini Conference, which will commence on Thursday in the courtyards of the Holy Shrine.
This conference is being organized in cooperation with the Imam al-Hussain Holy Shrine and the Administration of the Islamic Seminaries in the city of Qom.
Ceremony of Recognition
In this regard, Shaikh Salam Al-Nasiri, president of the Alawi Institute for Islamic Research and Studies, stated in an interview with the Media Center:
“The Imam Ali and Imam al-Hussain Holy Shrines, together with the Administration of the Islamic Seminaries in Qom, are organizing the memorial conference dedicated to the scholar Naini, with the participation of a group of scholars, university professors, and researchers.”
He explained that the conference aims to honor the role of scholars, highlight their intellectual, scholarly, cultural, and social contributions, and give due attention to the scientific legacy of the later generations of scholars.
He added that the conference program includes research sessions that will be held on Thursday and Friday at the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, with the concluding session to be hosted at the Imam al-Hussain Holy Shrine.
The Standing of the Scholar Naini
Meanwhile, Shaikh Jawad Naini, the grandson of Allamah Naini, stated:
“Speaking about the life of a scholar and renewer of his time carries profound meaning, for he possessed exceptional scholarly and intellectual distinctions throughout history.”
He emphasized that Allamah Naini was one of the eminent and influential scholars who played a major role in various fields, particularly in the training of scholars and jurists.
Objectives of the Conference
His Eminence Shaikh Arafi, president of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, explained that the conference is founded upon several key objectives, including presenting the personality of Allamah Naini and his distinguished scholarly role, introducing him as an inspiring model for present and future generations, and strengthening the academic relationship between the seminaries of Najaf al-Ashraf and Qom.
He further noted that the figure of Allamah Naini should serve as a bridge connecting these two renowned centers of learning.
Appreciation for the Imam Ali Holy Shrine
The conference guests expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and excellent organization provided by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, praising the extensive efforts undertaken to ensure the success of this international event.
It is noteworthy that this session of the conference is being held in Iraq following the first session, which took place in the holy city of Qom. The current program will conclude with its third session in the courtyards of the Imam al-Hussain Holy Shrine.
