The Department of Gifts and Donations at the Holy Alawi Shrine continues its dedicated efforts to organize the collection of public donations through precise, verified mechanisms. these measures are conducted in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority to ensure transparency and precision in documenting the support provided to the people of Lebanon and Iran.
Fateh al-Kirmani, the head of the department, stated in an interview with the shrine’s News Center:
“Various mechanisms and methods have been established for collecting aid, categorized into four primary types. These aim to assist the people of Lebanon and Iran and include the allocation of religious dues (Sharia dues) for both nations, providing donors with diverse avenues for participation.”
He added:
“Through its various units, this department has continued receiving aid since the second day of Eid al-Fitr. This process is managed via the electronic ‘Gifts and Donations ‘ system, which allows for the meticulous recording of donor information, the details of the contribution, and its designated allocation. Additionally, donors are provided with an electronic receipt that contains all relevant information, formally documenting the transaction.”
Al-Kirmani emphasized:
“The Department of Gifts and Donations operates 24/7 within the Holy Courtyard of the Alawi Shrine to receive donors. To further facilitate the process, electronic payment options via POS terminals—including the use of Mastercards—have been made available.”
Regarding the statistics, he noted:
“Between March 22 and April 9, 2026, the number of donors reached approximately 16,008. Among these, 15,699 were cash donations, 308 involved gold and silver artifacts, and one non-cash contribution was recorded.”
It is noteworthy that the Department of Gifts and Donations remains open around the clock to receive all forms of aid—a testament to the spirit of human solidarity and mutual assistance prevailing among the pilgrims of the Holy Alawi Shrine.
