Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) stated:
“[The Day of Ghadir] is the day of granting and giving gifts.” (1)
It is narrated that Imam al-Hasan (peace be upon him) used to host a grand feast in Kufa on the day of Eid al-Ghadir. After the prayers, Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), along with his children and a group of followers, would go to Imam Hasan’s house to attend the gathering. After the feast, Imam al-Hasan (peace be upon him) would bestow gifts upon the people.
Fayyadh al-Tusi narrates:
“I visited Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) on the day of Eid al-Ghadir. He had invited a group of his close companions for Iftar (breaking the fast) and had sent food, various gifts, and donations to their families. He had also provided them with clothes, rings, and shoes.” (2)
