The Vital Role of the Warehouse and Stores Department at the Holy Alawi Shrine in Meeting Logistical Needs

The Warehouse and Stores Department of the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) serves as an organized system for preserving resources and supplying the needs of the shrine’s various departments.

As a key support unit, the Warehouse and Stores Department plays a pivotal role in resource preservation and meeting departmental requirements through precise and systematic mechanisms that ensure material integrity and sustainability.

Departmental Requirements

Abdul Rasool Jawad, Head of the Warehouse Department, stated to the shrine’s News Center:

“This department consists of a series of specialized warehouses, each organized according to the type of materials stored.”

He explained:

“Certain materials, such as food products, require specific storage conditions including refrigeration, while other items, such as mechanical equipment and office supplies, are kept in dedicated warehouses.”

He added:

“These warehouses are distributed across several locations within the Holy Shrine, including the Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her) Courtyard, the Al-Miqdad Warehouse Complex, and the warehouse located in the Hawli area. This strategic distribution facilitates better organization of the storage process and ensures prompt access to materials when needed.”

He further noted that the department bears a significant responsibility in protecting materials from damage or spoilage, as these items are sourced through various channels, including donations, donations, procurements, and items returned from other shrine departments.

The Head of the Department stated:

“Supplying departmental needs follows official protocols via formal written requests. These requests are reviewed by a specialized committee known as the ‘Actual Needs Assessment Committee,’ which evaluates the genuine requirement for items. Once approved, the items are issued in a systematic and regulated manner.”

This rigorous operational system within the Warehouse Department reflects the Holy Shrine’s commitment to efficient resource management, ensuring the continuity of services to pilgrims and enhancing organizational efficiency across all departments.
