According to the Central Media Department of the Holy Shrine, the inauguration ceremony was attended by His Eminence Sayed Isa Al-Khirsan, the Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, along with his deputy, members of the Board of Trustees, heads of departments, and a group of shrine servants.
This project comes as part of the Shrine’s ongoing efforts to provide the best possible services to its esteemed visitors.
Mr. Haider Al-Issawi, a member of the Board of Trustees, stated:
“This factory has been established to enhance the quality of services provided to the pilgrims of the Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him). The new facility is responsible for washing the carpets of the Holy Shrine and its affiliated sites.”
He added:
“The factory is equipped with two washing lines—manual and automatic—and utilizes environmentally friendly materials throughout the washing, perfuming, and drying processes.
The facility has a daily capacity of more than 250 carpets and 500 blankets. It is also equipped with advanced systems for warm-air drying and perfuming to ensure that all carpets and coverings are returned to the Holy Shrine in pristine condition.”
Mr. Salam Al-Amiri, the director of the facility, explained:
“The new plant, covering an area of 6,250 square meters, has been designed based on modern technology. Compared to the previous factory, it features higher production capacity and is equipped with advanced systems for water recycling and purification, which contribute to resource conservation and environmental protection. In addition, all occupational safety standards have been fully observed in its design. The facility is also capable of providing services to other holy sites and cooperates with several processions during major pilgrimage occasions, particularly during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.”
The opening of this new facility represents a significant step forward in the developmental and service-oriented initiatives of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, with the primary goal of elevating the standard of services offered to its honorable visitors.
