Virtual Quranic Education by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine Expands Its Global Reach

The Women’s Dar al-Quran Department of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine continues to strengthen its global presence through virtual Quranic education programs aimed at preparing a generation of women active in Quran memorization and recitation.

Affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department, the center has adopted online instruction as a key tool for delivering structured Quranic education to learners beyond Iraq, particularly among Arab communities abroad.

The head of the center, Dalal al-Tabatabaei, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“The year 2014 marked the launch of virtual education initiatives, with the objective of teaching the Holy Quran to Arab communities outside the country, focusing on memorization, correct recitation, and the rules of tajwid based on well-established scientific principles.”

She added:

“The center’s instructors directly supervise these programs, supported by specialized teaching staff working within organized groups. The courses have expanded to several countries, including Germany, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. This expansion has provided broad opportunities for learners to engage in comprehensive Quranic programs, ultimately leading to the graduation of a group of highly distinguished women with advanced academic levels.”

Jumana Ali Qasim, an instructor based in Germany, noted:

“The aim of these courses is to achieve accurate recitation. Language barriers initially posed a challenge, which led us to translate the rules of recitation into German. This step significantly enhanced the learning level of students. Additionally, Quranic sessions are held across nine regions under the supervision of outstanding learners, while direct oversight continues to be conducted virtually by the center’s administration.”

The Women’s Dar al-Quran Department at the Imam Ali Holy Shrine continues to pursue its educational mission with consistency, seeking to expand its programs and diversify its courses in alignment with the needs of Muslim communities outside Iraq, while reinforcing Quranic education globally through modern and effective methods.
