Concurrent with the holding of Ghadir Week programs by the Holy Shrine of Alawi and on the eve of the great Eid of Ghadir, the artistic and theatrical groups of this shrine are preparing the religious-cultural play “Allegiance with the Truth,” whose first performance will be held on the first night of the blessed Eid al-Adha. This play will be performed for 18 days at the Al-Nakhil Resort in the holy city of Najaf.
The executive director of this program, Salam Ahmed al-Jubouri, stated in an interview with the shrine’s News Center:
“This play depicts the course of the mission of the divine prophets before the advent of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and their seeking of intercession through the Companions of the Cloak (peace be upon them), and then it addresses the most important stages of the life of the Final Prophet.”
He added:
“In this theatrical work, the virtues and status of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), the verses and hadiths narrated about him, as well as his heroic role in the battles of the Muslims against the polytheists, are artistically recounted.”
Al-Jubouri continued:
“The play ‘Allegiance with the Truth’ also depicts the event of Ghadir and its profound meaning as a symbol of unity and the immunity of the Ummah from division, and emphasizes that adherence to the guardianship (Wilayah) of Amir al-Muminin and the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) is the path to salvation and deliverance of the Ummah in this world and the next.”
He noted:
“More than 500 actors, artists, technical and executive personnel are participating in this project, and a number of well-known artists have also taken part in it. This work strives to convey the message of Ghadir through an artistic and theatrical language to various segments of society.”
According to this report, the play will be performed at the Al-Nakhil Resort located on the ring road of the holy city of Najaf, starting from the first day of Eid al-Adha, every night at 9 PM. The organizers have invited families, cultural and media institutions to attend this program to benefit from its epistemological, religious, and cultural themes—themes that express the status and importance of the allegiance of Ghadir in the life of the Islamic Ummah.
