The Amir al-Muminin’s (peace be upon him) Holy Shrine announced that the necessary preparations have been completed to hold the ceremony of hoisting the Ghadir flag in various countries of the world and provinces of Iraq for Monday. This program is being held within the framework of honoring the Greatest Eid of Allah and with the aim of spreading the culture of Ghadir and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Regarding the statistics and details of this program, Haydar Rahim, head of the Media Department of the Alawi Holy Shrine, said in a press conference held in the courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her) with the presence of various channels and news agencies:
“The Ghadir flag will be hoisted in 150 official gatherings inside and outside Iraq. These locations will include 87 international sites in 28 countries, 21 sites in 15 Iraqi provinces, as well as 8 flags at the holy shrines, 26 flags at noble shrines, and in addition, 8 locations in the city of Najaf Ashraf and its surrounding areas.”
He added:
“European countries have the largest share of the flag-hoisting locations, with 28 sites in several European countries including Britain, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, the Czech Republic, France, and Austria. The other locations will be held in Iran (20 provinces), Pakistan (10 locations), India (10 locations), Lebanon (3 locations), Turkey (2 locations), Australia (3 locations), as well as Thailand, Indonesia, China, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, in addition to several African countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Kenya.”
He concluded by adding:
“This year, compared to last year, an increase has been observed in the number of countries and gatherings that will witness the hoisting of the flag. This is part of the efforts of the Alawi Holy Shrine to honor Eid al-Ghadir and strengthen the global presence of this blessed occasion and its humanitarian and faith-based message in various societies.”
