The Holy Alawi Shrine, simultaneously with the official commencement of the programs of the Fifteenth Edition of the “International Week of Ghadir,” raised the flag of Ghadir in the square and on the bridges of “Thawrat al-‘Ishrin” and at the entrance to the old quarter of Holy Najaf.
In the ceremony of raising this flag, a gathering of dignitaries, social figures, and residents of Holy Najaf, along with the servants of the Holy Shrine, were present. Also during this ritual, poetry befitting this blessed occasion was recited, and the attendees, expressing their devotion and loyalty to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), commemorated the blessed Eid of Ghadir.
It is worth noting that the ceremony of raising the flag of Ghadir is considered among the most important programs of Ghadir Week. According to the planned schedule, this ceremony will be held in 150 locations across Iraq and various countries of the world, including the holy shrines (al-‘Atabat al-Muqaddasah), sacred pilgrimage sites, main squares, and key locations – an undertaking carried out with the aim of manifesting the concepts of wilayah (guardianship), loyalty to the Master of the Pious, and commemorating this momentous occasion.
